Damage Survey
The damage survey should detail the
extent of damage. This should include a complete description
including the area damaged in relation to the hull or compartment,
the equipment, fittings and appurtenances found damaged.
Recommendations for repair or replacements are made including notes
relating to the handling of the repairs including towing, personnel
safety, hazardous material handling, clean up and testing. The
damage survey report can be used to obtain quotes for repairs.
The damage survey report should
include the surveyor's opinion with regard to the recency of
damage and if the damage appears to be related to the
alleged incident or more than one incident.
The damage survey report should
be clearly written. Use of proper terminology is essential
to avoid confusing the reader
